Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install BFVZ visuals?

Install BFVZPowerGantt or BFVZPowerHealth from Microsoft AppSource, or import the .pbiviz file directly in Power BI Desktop. Navigate to the Visualizations pane, click the ellipsis (...), select “Import a visual from a file,” and choose the downloaded .pbiviz file.

The visual isn’t rendering or shows an error

Verify that all required data fields are mapped in the Fields pane. Try refreshing the visual by toggling it off and on, or by refreshing the report data. Confirm that you are running a supported version of Power BI Desktop or the Power BI Service.

What is BFVZPowerHealth?

BFVZ POWERHealth is a Power BI visual that runs the DCMA 14-Point Assessment on your schedule: logic, leads, lags, relationship types, hard constraints, high float, negative float, high duration, invalid dates, resources, missed activities, the critical path test, CPLI and BEI. Each check has a configurable threshold, and the result is graded A to F. It adds a schedule risk register that classifies findings by severity, a program comparison table, and a resource utilization matrix by period. It reads Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project exports loaded into the Power BI data model.

What is the BFVZ Demand Explorer?

A private, browser-based model of a program’s resource demand against your bench: how much of the program you can take on before a discipline is over capacity, which project tips it, where and when you run out, and what it would take to fix. It is delivered under engagement as a private link rather than through AppSource. Request a demonstration at support@bfvztech.com.

Does BFVZPowerHealth require BFVZPowerGantt?

No. They are independent visuals that can be used separately or together. Both follow the same data model conventions, enabling seamless integration when used side by side.

How does licensing work?

Both BFVZPowerGantt and BFVZ POWERHealth are licensed through the Power BI licensing API built into the Power BI platform, and each visual is licensed independently. Two tiers are available: Creator ($12/user/mo) for schedulers and report authors with full edit access, and Viewer ($5/user/mo) for executives and stakeholders with full read-only access. Both tiers start with a 30-day trial with all features enabled.

Do BFVZ visuals send my data externally?

No. All data remains within the Power BI environment. Neither BFVZPowerGantt nor BFVZPowerHealth make any external network calls or transmit data outside of Power BI. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.
